Congratulations to Wes Scardina! Wes took first place with a 5 fish limit of 10.89. Wes was the only angler to bring in a five fish limit. Ralph Pierce finished second with 7.47 and big fish honors of 4.19. The temperature was mild in the morning turning hot latter in the day which made finishing tougher as the sun came out.
Harvey Starling gives the devotional after the Coosa River weigh in.
Lake Jordan proved to be very stingy. We fished from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The weather remained overcast most of the day with the temperature mild. Don Johnson topped out the day with the only five fish limit weighing 9.17.
The club elected to fish a night tournament on Lake Martin to avoid the heat of the day. We had 9 members and one guest come out to fish from 2:00 to 9:00 AM. The water temp was a steamy 86 degrees which made the fishing slow and only 3 members managed to catch a limit. The top three anglers were Bryan Selix, Steve Harris and Don Johnson.
Congratulations to Steve Drinnon. Steve took first place with a bag of 7.09. Wes Scardina was a close second with a bag of 7.03 and big fish of 3.4. Most members caught short fish making for a very difficult day on the Alabama River with only Wes getting his five fish limit.
Christian Bassmen fished Lay Lake on May 14th. Weather conditions were great. Unfortunately the scales malfunctioned before we could weigh all of the fish. Points will be awarded only for attending the May meeting but, no points will be awarded for the May tournament.
Thank you for all guest and members for coming out. Please join us next month for our tournament on the Alabama River out of the Swift Creek Ramp.
Christian Bassmen fished Yates Lake April 9th, the conditions were muddy, windy, and water temperatures were around 61 degrees. But that did not discourage 15 members and 5 guests from chasing the bass around. Congratulations Steve Gibbs with 5 fish weighting 11.34 anchored by a 6.23 big bass. Second place goes to Ty Reese with 5 fish weighing 10.36.
Congratulations to Ralph Pierce on his first when as a club member. Ralph had a large sack of 15.42 and big fish of 4.62. Although, several large fish were caught most members struggled to fill out a limit.
